Firstly you will need to have the following equipment:-
1. Memory Stick – Preferably one that has 128mb of memory upon it (such as the Pro Duo) and which is ideal that videos can be played on it.

3. PSP – This goes without saying.

1. Firstly go in to settings on your PSP.

7. Once the video has been converted you then need to go to “My Documents”, “Converted Videos”, “PSP”, “MPEG-4AVC” folder and copy the video from their and into the Video folder on your PSP Memory Card.
8. As soon as the folder has been copied over then you just need to disconnect or cancel the USB connection between your PSP and PC.

There has been much confusion over the correct name of the latest version of Sony’s premier handheld console the PSP. Journalists have referred to the latest version by several names so lets see if we can get to the bottom of the confusion. At the last count I have see it called by 5 different names. This confusion can only affect Sony in a negative way as it leads to customer confusion . You would think that Journalists would take the time to get such a simple thing as a name correct.
In an attempt to get rid of this confusion I’ve decided to see if i can get to the truth of what we should be calling the latest version of the PSP. The names I’ve seen used so far are:
PSP2000
PSP Slim
PSP Lite
PSP2K
PSP Slim and Lite
PSP Slimline
So lets get to the bottom of this…
The official designation for the latest PSP is the PSP2000 this follows on from the model number of the original PSP which was PSP1000. The Name by which Sony wish the PSP2000 to be known is the PSP Slim and Lite.
So there we have it the PSP 2000 should be known as the PSP Slim and Lite so all other designations are technically incorrect…but any way I am now off to play with my PSP lite
On the face of it the changes are subtle but a closer look will reveal the following..
Internal Memory (RAM) has been increaded from 32 MB to 64 MB, so more space for savegames
Wi-Fi Connection is better, the Wi-Fi Connection switch has been moved to the top of the handheld
UMD games and movies load faster because the PSP stores UMD data in its temporary memory
A better battery pack and the battery now recharges via USB data connection as well. The old PSP battery pack is still usable as well but the battery cover can’t be closed when using this old battery
A video-out port with composite cable for hooking your Sony PSP Slim&Lite up to your TV
The handheld has been reduced by 33%
The PSP Slim and Lite is 19% narrower, slimmer in thickness
The D-pad has been improved, it’s more like the PS3 SixAxis controller’s D-pad
Memory Stick slot has been relocated
The infra-red port has been removed
Speakers have been repositioned on the front of the PSP near the screen
Better UMD Loading tray, easier to use
We should know shortly if these changes have rally improved the PSP but given sony’s recent record I have a feeling that a number of problem will soon appear.
Sony have announced that there will be 7 game titles available for download from the Playstation store when the service launches in 2008. Although primarily for the the Playstaiton 3 Sony are attempting to recruit games delevopers to make games available for both PSP Downloads and also PS3 Downloads.
The service should be very attractive to games developers and there will be larger profit margins due to there being no need for distribution networks and shipping. Expect the number of games to increase before the release date.
As mentioned in yesterdays news roundup Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron goes on sale today this will hopefully spark a few more sales of PSP’s but I can’t help thinking that people may be holding on for the PSP 2000 to arrive in the shops.
Finally today a bit of games news one of the most critically abused games of recent years has finally been released for the PSP. Spiderman 3 which received a host of negative comments when it was released on the DS has finally been schedule for release. Hopefully the time between the releases has enabled activision to improve the gameply.
Following on from the branded Final Fantasy PSP Square Enix makers of The star Ocean have announced the release of a branded PSP. Branding PSP’s seems to becoming a trend. The release costs are said to be just under 25,000 yen which is around $200 or £105. Unfortunately for fans of the series it is just scheduled for a Japaneses launch.
Don’t despair of getting a branded PSP if you live in the United States Regegade squadron which is the next Star Wars Battlefront game is going to have a branded white PSP with an image of Darth Vader on it. The game and PSP pack will cost $199
Fans Of Gran Turismo shouldn’t hold their breath. The good news is that Gran Turismo 5 is coming to the PSP the Bad news is it won’t be until 2009 at the earliest. The makers Polyphony are concentrating on GT5 for the PS3 and once that Is out the door they will concentrate on the PSP version.
Finally some console sales figures from Japan for the week ending sept 23. It’s interesting to see sales of the PS2 are still higher than the PS3. I really think sony dropped the ball on the PS3 , It’s too expensive, There are not enough must have games planned, and is Blueray really a must have?? Hopefully the planned price cuts next week might help
